This table lists, team by team, a closer evaluation of their rating. Each team is listed at the top followed by its power rating and ranking. The next line depicts the average opponent power rating yielding strength of schedule ranking. Following this heading for each team is a list for individual games with date, site (home or away), opponent's power rating, and score. The next two columns list the goal difference (subtracting the score) and the expected goal difference which is computed by subtracting the power ratings and adding or subtracting the home field advantage (approximately 2 goals). The final column which contains "+" or "-"'s in an indication of the performance for that game. A blank column means the team performed close to its power rating. A "-" means the team performed below its computed power rating and a "+" means the team performed above its power rating. The number of plus or minuses indicates the amount of departure from the rating. The total + and - do not add up because a victory adds to a power rating and the "+" and "-" only reflect goal difference.
As an example, when Butler played at North Carolina on February 22, Butler's power rating was (23.10) which ranked 19th and an average opponent's rating of (19.42) and North Carolina had a power rating of (26.68). The score was North Carolina 11, Butler 5 which is an actual goal difference of -6. The expected goal difference was (23.10 - 26.69 - 1.56) = -5.15. That means that North Carolina was expected to beat Butler by five goals. The home field advantage of 1.56 goals was added to North Carolina's power rating. Since North Carolina beat Butler by six goals, Butler played slightly below expections and thus the "-". See example below:
