Stony Brook University has extended the contract of women's lacrosse head coach Joe Spallina through June 2019, Director of Athletics Shawn Heilbron announced Friday. The winningest coach in program history after only three seasons, Spallina has led the Seawolves to back-to-back America East titles and NCAA Tournament first-round wins. More

Former Vermont women's lacrosse standout Vanessa Cox '05 was killed in a car crash in New Hampshire on February 12. She was 31. Cox, a two-time captain, was the first player in the UVM women's lacrosse program to register 50 or more points three straight seasons. More

Rollins College men's lacrosse player Will Hauver '15 passed away suddenly Monday afternoon. The cause of death is still unknown, according to the Winter Park Police Department. Hauver was a senior captain for the Tars, who were set to begin their 2015 season Thursday at Young Harris. More
