Hofstra University head women's lacrosse coach Shannon Smith has signed a multi-year contract extension, it was announced by Vice President and Director of Athletics Jeffrey A. Hathaway today. More
US Lacrosse has announced the assistant coaches and support staff for the 2016 U.S. Under-19 Team. Patrick Myers (Pennsylvania), Chuck Ruebling (Delbarton School) and Peter Toner (Penn State) have been selected as assistant coaches. Jon Jez (LIU-Post), Bill Leahy (La Salle College HS) and Jay Bissette (Duke) will assume the roles of manager, assistant manager, and equipment manager, respectively. More
UMBC Athletics Director Tim Hall has appointed Amy Slade as head coach of the UMBC women's lacrosse program as of March 17. Tony Giro, who had shared co-head coaching responsibilities with Slade, is now on leave from the university to allow the Retrievers to focus on their upcoming conference season. More
Rollins head lacrosse coach R.J. Rossi has separated employment from the College, it was announced Friday. Head assistant coach Chris Lewis will take over the team for the remainder of the season. More

The winningest coach in program history after only three seasons, Spallina has led the Seawolves to back-to-back America East titles and NCAA Tournament first-round wins. More

Obituaries

Former Vermont women's lacrosse standout Vanessa Cox '05 was killed in a car crash in New Hampshire on February 12. She was 31. Cox, a two-time captain, was the first player in the UVM women's lacrosse program to register 50 or more points three straight seasons. More
Wesley College is saddened to hear of the passing of former Wolverines men's lacrosse standout Eric Potts at his home on Sunday, February 8, 2015. Potts was a member of Wesley's 1996 ECAC championship team, winning the squad's 'Charlie Hustle' award for his attitude and hard work. More
Rollins College men's lacrosse player Will Hauver '15 passed away suddenly Monday afternoon. The cause of death is still unknown, according to the Winter Park Police Department. Hauver was a senior captain for the Tars, who were set to begin their 2015 season Thursday at Young Harris. More
The Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse program and members of the University community are mourning the loss of freshman defenseman Jeremy Huber. Huber died in his room on campus on Sunday night (January 25-26). More
