KKHT Cologne Indians Lacrosse Club (Cologne, DM - Germany)
.  Available: Summer 2009.
Position Description: The KKHT Cologne Indians Lacrosse (and Hockey & Tennis) club in Cologne (German: Köln), Germany is looking for a women's coach. We currently have one women's team and next year plan to establish a girls' team (aged 10-15) to enter the first ever girls' league. We offer a coaching position for both teams for at least one year.

Coaching responsibilities include organizing practices – both the women's and girls' team practice twice a week on the same days, girls right before women – and accompanying the teams to games during the season (about six women's game days and four girls' game days each season). All coaching can be done in English. German language skills are not necessary but helpful. Experience in coaching is desired.

A monthly salary of at least 300€ (about $400) will be paid by the club. Furthermore, there is the opportunity to have a second job, for example as an English teacher at a language school. You must have a bachelor's degree to teach at one of the language schools. We will take care of your paperwork, including getting your visa and applying to teach at a language school, and will help you find an apartment.

Compared to the US, German Lacrosse is still in its infancy, but it generates more and more players, teams, and fans every year. At the moment, there are about 20 women's teams and 35 men's teams in the country. Apart from the women's and girls' teams, the Cologne Indians also consists of a men's and a boys' team. We are both teammates and really good friends. We often meet up in our free time to play lacrosse but also go out to bars and clubs, meet up for barbecues in summer, go to the movies, and always have a lot of fun together. You will be more than welcome to join us, not just as our coach but also as a friend.

You will also have enough time to travel and see all of Europe. Cologne is located in the western part of Germany, close to the Dutch and Belgian borders. It is renowned for its inhabitants, who are very sociable people. Within the vicinity you can find other big cities such as Düsseldorf and Frankfurt as well as countryside and low mountain ranges. Germany's extensive and well organized public transportation system allows for easy and often inexpensive travel throughout the country and Europe. Since most Germans are familiar with the English language, communication is not an issue.

Help us to bring German Lacrosse forward and take the opportunity to spend a fun year in Europe, experience friendly people, German culture and lifestyle as well as other European nations!  Salary: About $400/month.  Appointment: Part-Time
