Brookhaven, NY -- Kelly Cefalu (East Islip, NY) tallied 7 goals and added an assist for a team high 8 points in Dowling's 24-11 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas College at Golden Lions Field. The win improves the Golden Liions record to 6-3 (2-1) as STAC drops to 3-6 (0-4).

The relentless Golden Lion attack tallied 12 first half goals from 7 different lady laxers. Cassandra Cronin (Islip Terrace, NY) opened the scoring with back-to-back goals :75 seconds apart to spot Dowling a 2-0 lead. "The Cefalu Show" than took over, Kelly took command netting 5 of her 7 goals. Stephanie Cotter (Ridge, NY) closed the first half with her first of 3 goals giving Dowling a 6 goal advantage (12-6) going into the locker room.

Dowling came out hot in the second half scoring the first two goals and outscoring the Spartans 12-5. Cronin finished with 4 goals and 7 ground balls, Vanessa Moreira (Selden, NY) had 4 goals, 1 assist, 7 ground balls and 7 draw controls, Cotter contributed with 3 goals and Melanie Burgos (Coram, NY) had her first hat trick of the year, scoring 3 goals and dishing out 2 assists.

Dowling returns to action Sunday, April 13 at 1:00.
