OSWEGO, N.Y. - Senior Kyle Simensky (Locust Valley) and senior Ryan Heath (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) each scored five goals as nationally fourth-ranked Cortland defeated Oswego, 19-3. The Red Dragons are 8-1 overall and 2-0 in SUNYAC play.

Heath finished with five goals and two assists and Simensky had five goals and one assist. Simensky scored his five goals on only six shots.

Sophomore Brian Krol (Niskayuna) added two goals and one assist and senior Chris Hannon (Baldwin) and senior Billy Fuchs (Merrick/Sanford H. Calhoun) each scored twice. Senior Adam Hyde (West Seneca/West Seneca East) notched three assists.

Junior Mike Robinson (Alexandria, VA/Bishop O'Connell) started in goal for the Red Dragons and made three saves while allowing three goals over the first 45 minutes. Freshman Tom Holden (Corning/Corning East) played the fourth quarter and recorded one save.

Junior Mike Brewster (East Syracuse/East Syracuse-Minoa) led Oswego (2-7, 1-1) with two goals and junior Mike Recor (Syracuse/East Syracuse-Minoa) scored once. Sophomore goalie Judd Robinson (Guilderland) kept the Lakers within a respectable margin by making 19 of his 22 saves in the first half. Matthew Pfister stopped two shots in the fourth quarter.

Oswego took its only lead at 1-0 on Recor's goal 3:31 into the first quarter. Cortland scored the next seven goals - two each by Heath and Simensky - and led 7-1 with 9:13 left in the first half. The Red Dragons led 9-3 at halftime and outscored the Lakers 10-0 over the final two quarters.

Cortland outshot the Lakers, 58-20, and won 18-of-24 faceoffs. Senior Josh Cittadino (Baldwin) won 11 of his 15 faceoffs and freshman Chris DeLuca (Sayville) was a perfect 6-for-6 on his faceoff attempts.
