No. 5 Lock Haven Gets Offensive, Drops IUP 23-5
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven University lacrosse team (9-2, 7-1 PSAC) scored early and often as the No. 5 Lady Eagles soared past Indiana (Pa.) University (2-8, 1-7 PSAC) 23-5 tonight at home on Charlotte Smith field.
The win extends the Haven's win streak to six games, as LHU improves to 7-1 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
Amber Hoch (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) scored just eight seconds into the contest breaking her own school record for fastest tally to open a game.
It was 3-0 Lady Eagles less than a minute in and LHU led 6-0 before IUP found the back of the net.
LHU eventually led 14-3 at the break.
Leading the way for the Lady Eagles tonight was senior Rachael Williams (Gettysburg, Pa./Catoctin), who recorded a game-high seven points. She played a sensational game in the midfield and was the Haven's leading play maker with five assists. Williams also tallied two goals.
Hoch finished with four goals and two assists as a total of 11 different Lady Eagles scored goals in the win.
Sophomore Leigh Titus (Towaco, N.J./Montville) had a game-high five goals.
Jessica Blickenstaff (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) scored four goals and dished out two helpers for a six-point night.
Rookie Alex Cross (Owego, N.Y./Owego) netted the first two points of her LHU career with a goal and an assist tonight.
The Lady Eagles shut down IUP with a tremendously solid defensive effort.
The Lady Eagles are back in action on Saturday, April 12 at 1:00 p.m. when they travel to East Stroudsburg for conference action.
