Buffalo State Thunders by Morrisville State
BUFFALO, NY--Buffalo State (7-3/5-1) defeated Morrisville State (3-9/0-7), 18-2, today in a SUNYAC game at Towers Field. Stephanie Georgopoulos (Port Jefferson Station/Comsewogue) and Katie Henderson (Lakeview/Frontier) led the Bengals offensive attack with three goals and one assist each.
Molly Seifritz (Syracuse/Henninger) had two goals and three assists, while Erin Silky (Liverpool/Liverpool), Katie Lyons (Williamsville/Williamsville North), Marilyn Kush (East Aurora/East Aurora) and Joni Squire-Hill (Ohsweken, ON/Hagerville) each scored twice. Shantel Ackley (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) registered a goal and four assists and Jennifer Tierney (Massapequa/Massapequa) also added a single marker.
Buffalo State dominated play from the beginning and took a 14-1 lead into the first intermission. The Bengals played a possession game in the second half, allowing just one Morrisville goal.
Buffalo State outshot Morrisville, 28-9. Ashley O'Brien (Lima/Honeoye Falls-Lima) and Katie Rivers (Watertown/Watertown) split time in goal, each making two saves in the win.
The Bengals return to action on Saturday when they host Oswego at 1:00 p.m.
