Colby Falls to Keene State
KEENE, N.H. -- The Colby College men's lacrosse team received four goals from Whit McCarthy, but Keene State College battled back in the fourth quarter for an 11-10 win over the Mules in non-conference play Tuesday.
The Mules led 5-4 at halftime and the game was tied 8-8 after three quarters. Colby (6-7) took a 9-8 lead when McCarthy scored off an assist from Dana McNally just 1:43 into the fourth quarter. Keene State (8-2), though, scored the next three goals to go up 11-9. The Mules managed a goal from Drew Piekarski with 1:24 remaining to cut the margin to one goal, but could not get the tying goal.
Caddy Brooks added three goals and one assist for the Mules, McNally had three assists, and Piekarski scored twice. Zach Goodnough had the other goal for Colby and Stew Brown had two assists.
Alex Farmer made 10 saves in goal for the Mules.
