Cornell Welcomes Nine Newcomers for the 2009 Season

"Rob is very talented all-around attackman who possesses the skills and knowledge of the game to be the quarterback at the Cornell attack," said Tambroni. "He compliments his teammates very well and is the type of player that makes everyone around him better."

A three-time letter winner at the Lawrenceville School, Restaino helped his team to four MAPL championships and four N.J. Prep H state championships. He earned first-team All-Region, second-team All-Prep and second-team All-MAPL honors in the process. Restaino helped the 2007 Long Island Empire State Team earn a gold medal. He also played for Bermuda at the 2008 ILF U-19 World Championships and earned honorable mention all-tournament honors after posting 15 goals and two assists in seven games. Restaino also earned three varsity letters in football and lettered in hockey once.

"Matt is a solid all-around midfielder who does a little bit of everything," said Tambroni. "He is a player that gained a tremendous amount of experience from playing with the Long Island Empire State team, as well as an extremely successful Lawrenceville program."

A four-year starter at the Noble and Greenough School, Weyl helped lead his team to an ISL Championship in both 2005 and 2006. He was a first-team All-ISL selection as a junior and senior, after earning an honorable mention nod as a sophomore. Weyl was named All-New England as a senior and participated in the New England Prep School All-Star game. Weyl also lettered three-times in football, earning first-team All-ISL honors as a junior. As a senior captain, he led his team to an undefeated (9-0) New England championship, the first in the school's history.

"TJ is an extremely intelligent defenseman with very good size and strength," said Tambroni. "He possesses a high lacrosse IQ and will be a good addition to our defensive core in large part due to his ability to communicate and understand our defensive system right away."
