Drexel Men's Lacrosse Announces Schedule, Captains

Philadelphia, Pa. - Drexel Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Chris Bates has announced the team's captains for the upcoming season. Seniors Brendan Baker, Kevin Dart and Brian Neary and juniors Colin Ambler and Matt McCormick have been chosen by the team to serve in that capacity for the 2009 season. The Dragons, who have won a share of the Colonial Athletic Association championship in each of the last two seasons, have also announced their schedule for 2009.

The Dragons begin the season on Feb. 14 at the University of Virginia. It will be one of two games the Dragons play against nationally-ranked non-conference opponents on the road in 2009. In addition to Virginia, Drexel will travel to Colorado to face the University of Denver. Drexel also plays at Saint Joseph's and at St. John's this season. Non-conference home games include games with Penn, Albany, Binghamton and Lafayette.

The Colonial Athletic Association schedule begins on March 28 as Towson visits Vidas Field. The Dragons defeated the Tigers last season for the first time since 1998. Villanova and Delaware will also come to Vidas Field for league games. Drexel will visit Hofstra, Sacred Heart and Robert Morris in conference play. This will be the final season of the CAA in its current format. Robert Morris, Sacred Heart and Villanova will join the Northeast Conference in 2010, when Penn State and the University of Massachusetts become associate members in the CAA for men's lacrosse.
