U. of Dallas Appoints Will Oakley as New Head Coach

Dallas, TX -- The University of Dallas recently appointed Will Oakley as the Crusader's new head women's lacrosse coach. Dallas is entering its sixth season as a varsity program and is still the only NCAA women's team in the state of Texas.

"It's an honor to be working at the University of Dallas, which had the vision to add the first NCAA lacrosse team in the state. I will continue the work of the previous coaches and hope to create a competitive and successful team. The University of Dallas offers a lot of opportunities to student-athletes; it has great academic programs and has the benefit of a large metropolitan area for its setting."

Oakley has previously served as the head coach for two WDIA programs at Georgia Tech and the University of California, Irvine. While at Georgia Tech, he was named the 2005 Southeastern Women's Lacrosse League coach of the year.

Dallas begins its 2009 NCAA Division III campaign against Adrian College at Fontbonne University in St. Louis on February 28th. Dallas is traveling extensively this year, including trips to Portland, Los Angeles, Chicago, St. Louis, and Washington D.C.

The University of Dallas is a Catholic, co-ed liberal arts university located in Irving, Texas with students hailing from 45 states and 11 countries.
