Wagner, C.W. Post Release Schedules for 2009

Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College women's lacrosse program has unveiled its 2009 schedule, which will mark the first season under head coach Cristina Curiale, a former Rutgers University star player and assistant coach.

The Seahawks will open the 17-game 2009 campaign at Bucknell on February 18, before kicking off a three-game homestand vs. Saint Joseph's (Feb. 28), Columbia (March 4), and Bryant (March 6). Wagner will then take to the road again with Spring Break contests at Manhattan (March 10) and at Siena (March 18), the latter marking the Seahawks' Northeast Conference (NEC) opener.

The Seahawks will play a total of nine non-conference games and eight NEC tilts.

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Nov. 19, 2008) – C.W. Post head women's lacrosse coach Meghan McNamara released the schedule for the upcoming 2009 season. C.W. Post, fresh off a 17-2 season and their second consecutive Division II National Championship title game appearance, will start off the season with a contest against Davidson College in North Carolina as part of its 17-game schedule.

The Pioneers will play their first six games on the road as they travel to Davidson, followed by Georgian Court, Southern New Hampshire, Southern Connecticut, Belmont Abbey, and Pfeiffer University.

Their home opener will also be their East Coast Conference opener, against St. Thomas Aquinas on March 31 at 4:00 p.m. A new opponent for the Pioneers is 2009 will be PSAC competitor Lock Haven University, who will visit Hickox Field on April 19 for 12 p.m. game.

The Pioneers will face off with conference and neighboring rival Adelphi University in their final game of the regular season on May 2 at 1:00 p.m.
