Adelphi Men's Lacrosse Earns Preseason Honors
Garden City, N.Y. - Inside Lacrosse magazine released it's 2009 Face-Off Yearbook and the Adelphi University men's lacrosse team took home a few honors. Senior Edward Ege was named Division II Preseason attackman of the year, a title the USILA bestowed upon him in 2008, and was also named a preseason All-American.
Ege was the Division II leader in both points (6.17) and assists (4.33) per game in 2008 and led the Panthers with 74 points on 22 goals and a team-high 52 assists. A starter in all 12 games Ege also picked up 15 ground balls.
Ege was also named a preseason ECC All-Conference selection, while senior defenseman Ryan Kelly was honored with a preseason All-America nod after starting all 12 games in 2008 and picking up 21 ground balls.
In addition Adelphi was selected fourth in the East Coast Conference, after finishing with a record of 7-5 overall in 2008 and 3-3 in conference play last spring.
