Victory! Wagner Tops Presbyterian, Snaps 48-Game Streak

Wagner reeled off three goals in the first seven minutes of the fourth period to extend its lead to 9-5. Peterson ended its 21-minute drought with his second score of the day off a pass by freshman Devin Pinkston (Purcellville, Va./Notre Dame Academy). After two more goals by the Seahawks, junior midfielder Sean Mulford (Towson, Md./Loyola Blakefield H.S.) scored PC's final goal with 3:04 on the clock, cutting Wagner's lead to 11-7. Wagner netted the final score of the game seven seconds later to earn its first victory of the season.

Seniors Drew Tobias (Greensboro, N.C./Southeast Guilford H.S.) and Billy Rinaldi (Hilton Head, S.C./Shades Valley H.S.) combined with Athens for 12 of PC's 34 ground balls, each with a team-high of four. Senior co-captain Dave Hahn (Baltimore, Md./CC of Baltimore County) led the team's defense with two caused turnovers.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jon Athens (Huntingtown, Md./Northern H.S.) made eight saves over 60 minutes in goal while his Seahawks counterpart, Peter Rubin, made six stops.

Wagner's offense was led by Evan Shull, who registered four goals for the Seahawks.

PC returns to Clinton for a home game against Robert Morris on Mar. 10.
