No. 9 Roanoke Downs Kenyon for Best Start Since 1981

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The men's lacrosse team defeated Kenyon, 20-12 in non-conference action this afternoon in Orlando. The win improved the Maroons to 5-0 on the season, while the Lords dropped to 1-1.

Kenyon, which upset the nationally-ranked Maroons last season, started with a 7-2 Roanoke advantage after the first quarter. The deficit proved too much for the Lords to overcome, although the Kenyon squad played within three goals of the Maroons for the remainder of the game.

Matt Quinton led Roanoke with five goals and two assists. Zach Thomas had three goals and two assists to pace the Maroons in their fifth win of the season.

Devin Catlin scored three goals and James Eaton scored twice to lead Kenyon.

The men will host St. Mary's (MD) at Kerr Stadium this Saturday, March 7. The Maroons are 7-1 all-time against the Seahawks. Game time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
