Argos Win Fourth Straight, Topple St. Andrews

March 7 – The Notre Dame de Namur lacrosse team improved to 4-0 with a 15-8 victory over St. Andrews College. The Argos used a four goal run in the first half to build a cushion before scoring the games final five goals to ward off a rally from the Knights.

Drew Comeau once again led the NDNU offense with four goals, three of which came in the second period. After the Argos took a 1-0 lead the Knights tied the score with 3:02 left in the first. NDNU would then rattle off four straight goals to go ahead 5-1.

The Knights would cut the lead to three halfway through the second, but Comeau responded with a pair of goals to push the score to 7-2. Ryan Hoover and Ryan Hauswirth would tally the final two scores of the half for St. Andrews to make the halftime score 7-4.

The two teams alternated the first six goals of the second half to keep the Argonaut lead at three. The Knights then cut it to two with 7:30 left but would not get any closer as Owen Williams scored 20 second later to push NDNU's advantage back to three. The Argos would go on to score four more unanswered goals to put the game out of reach.

The Argos led in nearly every category, racking up a 43-21 advantage in shots and a 55-36 advantage in groundballs. NDNU also won 15 of 27 face-offs and held the Knight to just 2-12 in extra-man opportunities.

In addition to Comeau's five points, Greg Bearson scored three goals and added an assist while Derek Kimbrough scored his first career goal and registered three assists. Nick Campo and Ryan Hulsey tacked on three points apiece with a goal and two assists each. Conrad Clevlen also record two goals, nine groundballs and won 14-21 face-offs.
