Greensboro Falls at Virginia Wesleyan

Virginia Beach, Va. -- Laura Norris had five goals and one assist as Virginia Wesleyan defeated Greensboro College, 16-7, in a women's lacrosse game on Sunday. Sophomores Ashley Nolen (Lothian, MD/Southern) and Toni Battaglia (Palm Beach Gardens, FL/Jupiter) led The Pride with two goals and one assist apiece.

The Marlins got out to a 4-0 lead and held and advantage of 7-3 at halftime. VWC held its biggest lead at 11-3 after Norris converted a free position shot.

The Pride, however, battled back. Christie Hebert (Alexandria, VA/West Potomac) tallied with 11:23 left to marked the score 14-6. Hebert also dished one assist in the game. Battaglia recorded the game's next goal at the 8:23 mark to cut the lead to 14-7, the closest the visitors would get.

Stacey Pulskamp ( Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) started in the nets for GC. She allowed four goals, made two saves and took the loss. Jessica Catanzano (Seaford, NY/Kellenberg Memorial) stopped 13 shots and gave up 12 goals int he final 46:50.

VWC is now 3-2. The Pride (0-3) has its home opener on Thursday vs Swarthmore.
