Greensboro Runs Past Sewanee to Go 5-1
Greensboro, NC -- Freshman Brad Gesser (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) had a game high four goals and passed for one assist as Greensboro College defeated Sewanee, 13-4, at Pride Field on Saturday. GC improved to 5-1 matching its best start since 2005.
Nick Patrone (Supply, NC/Apex) had two goals and two assists, Jordan Drumheller (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) tallied once and dished two assists and Jose Rodriguez (Wexford PA/North Allegheny) potted two goals. Ten Pride players recorded points in the game.
Greensboro outscored the visiting Tigers 5-1 in the first two quarters and held a 10-2 lead at halftime. GC recorded 27 shots to 20 for the University of the South. The Pride also led in ground balls 28-17. Mike Foderaro (Sailisbury, MD/Parkside) scooped four ground ball and stopped eight Tiger shots.
Will Grimes led Sewanee (0-6) with two goals. Stewart Calder recorded 10 save for Sewanee.
The Pride hosts Virginia Welseyan on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
