NEW LONDON, Conn.--Lindsey Moran (Upper Montclair, N.J.) scored three goals in the closing 22:48 of regulation Saturday to rally Amherst College (2-1, 1-1) in an 8-6 come from behind victory against Connecticut College (1-2, 0-2) in New London. Kelley Trapp (Monterey, Calif.) tallied three first half score and assisted on a goal that was scored by Allie Horwitz (Woodbridge, Conn.) with 17:08 remaining that proved to be the difference maker.

Connecticut College freshman Ali McPherson (Old Lyme, Conn.) contributed two goals and an assist in the setback. Hope Barone (North Kingstown, R.I.) chipped in with two scores for the Camels. Sophomore Celia Medeiros caused four turnovers and corralled a team-high five ground balls for the hosts.

The Camels and Lord Jeffs were locked up in a 3-3 tie at the half. Connecticut College received a nice boost from Barone at the start of the second stanza. 3:15 into the frame, Barone buried a free position to put the Camels on top 4-3. With 23:25 remaining, Barone shredded the nets on another free position for her fifth marker of the season and the Camels had their largest lead of the day in a 5-3 game.

But the Lord Jeffs scored the next four goals in a span of 5:40 to turn in a two goal deficit into a two goal advantage. Moran buried back-to-back free positions during the run and Horwitz capped the rally with a score at the 17:08 mark.

Katelyn Driscoll (Peabody, Mass.) halved the Amherst lead with her fourth goal in the past two games. But Moran added a critical insurance score with 6:05 remaining and Amherst was able to hold on for the 8-6 triumph.

Rookie net-minder Lamia Harik (Rye Brook, N.Y.) made four saves in the victory for the Lord Jeffs. Connecticut College junior Jenna Ross (Longmeadow, Mass.) stopped five Amherst shots in the loss. Sophomore Rachel Nelson (Denver, Colo.) made one save for the hosts in the final minute of regulation.
