#10 Washington & Lee Rallies to Edge Franklin & Marshall
LEXINGTON, Va. -- The 10th-ranked Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team scored the final three goals of the game to post a 7-6 victory over Franklin & Marshall on Saturday evening at Wilson Field.
The Generals (6-0) led 4-3 at halftime courtesy of an unassisted goal by senior attackman Seth Fishman (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Haverford) just before time expired in the second quarter.
The Diplomats (2-3) responded with three-straight scores in the third quarter, including a goal by first-year attackman Colin McKew (Glen Arm, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) off a feed from sophomore midfielder Scott Hahn (Ellicott City, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) with just one second remaining in the third period, for a 6-4 lead heading into the final quarter.
W&L then responded with three-straight scores in the fourth period to register its sixth-straight victory. Fishman pulled the Generals to within 6-5 on a goal off a feed from junior attackman Will Keigler (Timonium, Md./Gilman) just 26 seconds into the quarter and sophomore midfielder Drew Koeneman (St. Louis, Mo./MICDS) knotted the score at 6-6 with an unassisted tally at the 13:44 mark. Senior midfielder Tim Skeen (Baltimore, Md./Towson) scored the game-winner in a man-up situation off a Keigler assist with 11:18 left in the game.
Keigler led W&L with two goals and three assists, while Fishman had two goals. Skeen chipped in one goal and one assist. Senior Connor Locke (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) played all 60 minutes in goal and notched nine saves.
Senior attackman Mark Hild (Denver, Colo./Denver East) logged two goals and one assist to lead the Diplomats. Hahn registered a pair of assists, while sophomore midfielder Jeff Ritter (Watchung, N.J./Watchung Hills) posted one goal and one assist. Junior Chris Marcozzi (Springfield, Pa./Malvern Prep) played the duration in goal and notched 14 saves.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Wednesday as it hosts Sewanee for a 7:00 pm contest.

LEXINGTON, Va. – No. 10 Washington & Lee rallied from a two-goal deficit after the third quarter with three goals in the fourth to defeat Franklin & Marshall 7-6 in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday night.
Tim Skeen netted the game-winning goal on a extra-man opportunity with 11:18 left to play and help the Generals (6-0) remain undefeated on the season. Will Keigler finished with a game-high five points with two goals and three assists, including the helper on Skeen's game winner.
Mark Hild (Denver, CO/Denver East) logged two goals and an assist for the Diplomats (2-3).
The first quarter was back-and-forth scoring by both teams, starting with W&L's Chris Washington. Mark Hild responded 45 seconds later to even it up at 1-all. Sean Oliver (Wilton, CT/Wilton), Jeff Ritter (Watchung, NJ/Watchung Hills) and Hild each scored again for F&M.
