No. 9 Colby Rebounds to Defeat Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. -- Kate Sheridan moved within one point of the Colby College women's lacrosse all-time career scoring record with three goals and one assist in a 14-5 non-conference victory over Endicott College on Sunday.

Sheridan has 154 goals and 67 assists for 221 points and needs just one point to tie record of 222 set by Ally King '03. She will get a chance to break the record when the Mules play University of Southern Maine on Tuesday at Deering High School at 4:00 p.m.

Kathleen Kramer and Claire Donegan both had two goals and one assist for the Mules (2-1). Heather Nickerson scored two goals for the second straight game since joining the team after the women's ice hockey season. Amy Campbell and Lauren Strazzula both had one goal and one assist, while Anne Geraghty, Casey Thomas, Katie Briody, and Lane McVey all tallied once. McVey picked up her first collegiate goal.

Sarah Warnke made three saves in the first half for Colby and Keryn Meierdiercks played the second half and stopped six shots.

The Mules, who had a 46-20 advantage in shots, fell behind 2-1 in the opening 10 minutes of the game. Campbell scored just 1:19 into the game, but Endicott (2-1) received goals from Michelle Loizzo and Rebecca Bushnell.

Colby scored the final five goals of the first half to take a 6-2 margin at intermission. Campbell scored again with 17:14 to play to trigger a three-goal run over the next minute. Kramer and Nickerson also tallied at 16:52 and 16:27 remaining. Donegan and Strazzula had the other goals before the half.

The Mules scored four of the next five goals to start the second half to open up a 10-3 lead. Sheridan scored all three of her goals in the final 30 minutes.
