Denison scored 11 unanswered goals in the first half and never looked back en route to an 18-2 victory over Ft. Lewis College in their 2009 season opener from Colorado Springs, Colo.

The Big Red outshot their opponents 35-12 as 10 different DU players got in the scoring column. Sophomore Sara Langsam scored three goals, had two assists and three ground balls to lead the way. Sophomore Phoebe Myhrum also scored three goals and chipped in one assist.

Also finishing with two goals for Denison were Liz Haughton, Lindsay Howard, Alex Thurner and Lulu Carter.

Senior goalie Amanda Wilson finished with seven saves in the cage for the Big Red.

Denison (1-0) will be back in action on Tuesday against Fontbonne in Colorado Springs.
