Susquehanna Comes from Behind to Edge York

YORK, Pa. - Freshman midfielder Ally Bauer (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) scored a game-high four goals, including a rare man-down score, to help lead visiting Susquehanna University to a come-from-behind 9–8 win over York College of Pennsylvania in a non-conference women's lacrosse game at Kinsley Field on March 17.

Bauer has scored 12 goals in her last three games. She leads Susquehanna (4–1 overall) this season with 14 goals. Sophomore midfielder Sarah Wright (Princeton, N.J./Princeton HS), who scored two goals against York (2–6 overall), is second on the Crusaders with 13 goals. Wright leads the team with eight assists and 21points.

The Crusaders trailed, 4–2, early in the second half. They trailed again, 6–5, with 15 minutes, 42 seconds to play but scored the next four goals to earn the win. York scored a free-position goal with 3:06 remaining and another with two seconds left to make things interesting down the stretch.

Senior Meredith Tompeck (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) made 10 saves to secure the win.

SU's sophomore midfielders D.J. Jacobs (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) and Sara Franckowiak (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) and freshman midfielder Erin Dyer (West Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) each notched one goal and one assist. Franckowiak's score was the game-winner. Jacobs added five ground balls. Freshman midfielder Marra Landino (Brownsville, Vt./Kimball Union Academy) assisted on Dyer's goal.

Senior midfielder Katelyn Deese (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) scooped up a game-high eight ground balls for Susquehanna and caused a team-high three turnovers. Fellow senior midfielder Cindy Wilson (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) collected a team-high three draw controls.
