No. 18 Mary Washington Runs by Randolph-Macon

Freshman attacker Catherine Kennedy scored five goals and added a pair of assists, and freshman Lauren Callison added a goal and four assists to lead the 18th ranked University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team to a 16-4 win over Randolph-Macon College on Wednesday at the Battleground. The Eagles improve to 6-2 on the season.

The Eagles jumped ahead early, scoring the game's first five goals en route to a 10-1 halftime advantage. UMW outscored the Yellow Jackets, 6-3, in the second half.

In addition to Kennedy's seven points and Callison's five, freshman Allie Kimmelman scored a goal and added three assists, Brittany Butler scored three times with an assist, and senior Julia Milner added two goals and an assist.

In goal, UMW's Taylor Parker made three saves, while Randolph-Macon's Alex Flammia made 15 saves. The Eagles outshot the visitors, 40-7, and had 27 ground balls to 16 for RMC. The Eagles won 16 of 21 draw controls in the contest.

UMW will visit Dickinson College on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
