Blazers Overwhelm Trinity with 22-0 Shutout

FREDERICK, Md.--All 13 field players to get in the game scored at least one point Wednesday in a 22-0 rout by the Hood College women's lacrosse team (4-2) over the visiting Trinity University (D.C.) Tigers (0-5).

The Blazers, who are averaging 19.5 goals per game in their four victories, eclipsed the school record for goals in a game with 22, surpassing the previous record of 21 set in two other contests earlier this month. Hood also matched its win total from 2008, marking the most victories for the program since the 2005 season (7-4).

Brandy Noel tallied six points on four goals and two assists while Kelsey Blackwell, Lauren Perzan and Katie Vu all netted hat tricks. Three Blazers netted their first goals of the season; Patsy Davis, Julia Banks and Abby Dyjack all found the back of the net in the second half. Other scorers for Hood included Sarah Balukoff, Britney Colandreo, Kim Blocker and Maria Moss. Blackwell and Helene Butler dished out three assists apiece in the lopsided victory.

Hood won 20 draws on the day and did not allow a single Tiger shot on the afternoon.

Hood returns to Capital Athletic Conference play Saturday at the University of Mary Washington, currently ranked No. 18 in NCAA Division III, at 1:00 p.m.
