No. 1 Continentals Cruise Past Rowan
SAN ANTONIO -- Hamilton College scored the first four goals and never trailed as the nationally ranked No. 1 Continentals cruised to a 17-9 non-league win against Rowan University in a women's lacrosse game played at St. Mary's University on March 19.
Kaillie Briscoe led Hamilton (3-1 overall) with five goals. Hilary Saverin chipped in four. Kate Fowler and Sam Elie made six saves apiece.
Nicole Valianti and Carly Welsh scored two goals apiece for Rowan (2-2). The Profs took 18 shots in the second half and finished with 25. The Continentals took 27 shots.
Hamilton led 4-0 just 8:16 into the first half and owned a comfortable 10-3 advantage at the break. The Continentals notched the first three goals of the second half to effectively put the game away with 24:39 left.
