Elizabethtown Ends Alvernia's Streak
Elizabethtown, Pa. (Mar. 24, 2009) - Alvernia University's (6-1, 2-1) school record six-game win streak came to an end on Tuesday in a 22-2 loss at Elizabethtown College (6-2, 3-0) in Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Conference women's lacrosse action.
Alvernia scored twice in the first half, but found itself down 14-2 at the break and the Blue Jays methodically put eight more on the board in the second half.
Alvernia got goals from freshmen Sarah George (West Chester, Pa./West Chester Bayard Rustin) and Heather Coppola (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley).
Alvernia will continue the conference schedule next Tuesday hosting Messiah College.
