No. 2 Hamilton Cruises Past Rensselaer

CLINTON, N.Y. -- Kaillie Briscoe '09 scored two goals and was credited with four assists to help lead nationally ranked No. 2 Hamilton College to a 15-5 win against visiting Rensselaer in a Liberty League women's lacrosse game played at Campus Road Athletic Field on March 28.

Briscoe -- a First Team All-American last year for the defending NCAA Division III champions -- has four goals and eight assists in the last two games. She leads the team with 14 assists and 29 points.

Audrey Nebergall '10 came off the Hamilton bench to score a game-high three goals. Kriti Dave '11 and Liz Rave '10 chipped in two goals and one assist apiece. Rave also won three draw controls. Kate Marek '09 scored two goals and caused three turnovers, and Anne Graveley '11 added two goals and three ground balls. Kate Fowler '10 stopped all four shots she faced in the first half. Sam Elie '12 made three saves in the second half.

Kerri Clark '09 paced the Red Hawk offense with two goals. Stephanie Caouette '11 contributed one goal, one assist, three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Caouette leads the team with 17 goals. Ariana Hood '10 made 16 saves.

The Continentals (6-1 overall, 2-0 Liberty) scored three goals in the opening three minutes, 20 seconds, and cruised to an 11-0 lead at the break. Nebergall scored the last three goals of the half. Rensselaer (3-4, 0-2) pulled to within 12-4 with 10:39 left in the second half, but didn't get any closer.

Hamilton held a commanding 43-13 shot advantage and owned a 29-17 edge in ground balls. The Red Hawks, who lost their fourth straight game, committed 21 turnovers.

The Continentals have won their last four games and have defeated Rensselaer 11 straight times. Hamilton pushed its home win streak to 26 games and has 22 consecutive victories against league opponents.
