(Carlisle, Pa.)- The Dickinson College men's lacrosse team raced out to 5-1 lead in the first quarter and settled in en route to a 10-4 Centennial Conference win over rival Franklin & Marshall on Saturday.

Ted Sirvaitis (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) put the Devils on the board at the 12:58 mark, followed by a Derek Still (Oreland, Pa./Penn Charter) tally off an assist from Casey Finkelstein (Owings Mills, Md./McDonogh) with 6:47 to play in the first.

Mark Hild snuck one in at the 5:26 mark with the Diplomats only point of the first half.

Still and first-year Sam Greenburg (Owings Mills, Md./McDonogh) each tallied back-to-back goals to open the second quarter as the Devils pulled in front 9-1.

The third quarter belonged to the defense as each team found the net just once. The Diplomats tacked on two more in the fourth for the final of 10-4.

Still and Greenburg led the attack with three goals each on the day while Finkelstein added a goal and two assists.

Junior Al Golod (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) anchored a strong defensive effort with a pair of caused turnovers and five ground balls. Pat Curley (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. St. Joseph) won 7-of-13 face-offs and controlled six GBs on the day.

Russell Matthews (Chestertown, Md./Kent County) turned in another outstanding performance in the net, stopping 19 shots.

The Diplomats (2-5, 0-2) were solid on the face-offs early in the game, winning 6-of-7 in the first quarter behind the play of junior Sean Murphy. Murphy finished 8-of-13 on the day with four GBs.

Chris Marcozzi made a pair of saves in the first half while Danny Coffman came on to stop five in the second.

The Red Devils improve to 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference. They travel to Haverford College next Saturday. Game time has been changed to a 2:00 start.
