No. 2 Le Moyne Grounds the Hawks in NE-10 Action
SYRACUSE, NY – Sophomore Jack Hamatuk (Syracuse, NY / CBA / Syracuse U.) tied a career high with four goals and an assist to lead the #2 ranked Dolphins over Saint Anselm 15-2 in NE-10 action. The Dolphins improve their unblemished record to 6-0, 2-0 in conference. The Hawks drop to 3-3, 1-1 in the NE-10.
In out shooting Saint Anselm 15-2 in the first period, the Dolphins built a 5-0 lead after 15 minutes. Matt Chadderdon (Auburn, NY / Auburn) and Nick DiSarro (Niskayuna, NY / Niskayuna) each added two goals in the second period to extend Le Moyne's advantage to 10-0 heading into the break. In front of All-American Doug McIver (Altamont, NY / Albany Academy), the Dolphin defense held Saint Anselm to five shots through the first 30 minutes of action.
The Dolphins extended their lead to 13-0 on a goal from Jack Venditti (Baldwinsville, NY / Baldwinsville) before the Hawks recorded back-to-back goals by Chris Murphy. Murphy's last goal was only the second man-up goal scored on the nation's best penalty-kill unit. Le Moyne has yieled only two goals in 30 man-down situations this season.
In scoring double-digit goals for the fourth time in six games, the Dolphins blistered 63 shots on goal against just 17 for the Hawks.
Saint Anselm's Dan Flynn recorded 15 saves in goal to lead the Hawks. McIver recorded five saves to lower his nationally second-best goals against average to 4.84 with over three quarters of shut-out net minding.
Le Moyne looks to extend their NE-10 regular season win streak to 19 as they travel to take on Assumption Tuesday, March 31st at 4:00 p.m.

Syracuse, N.Y. (March 28) -- On Saturday afternoon, the Saint Anselm men's lacrosse team dropped a 15-2 final at No. 2 Le Moyne in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Hawks fall to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the league.
Le Moyne built a 10-0 halftime lead and led 13-0 in the fourth before Saint Anselm's Chris Murphy (Winchester, Mass.) got the Hawks on the board with a pair of goals.
Dan Flynn (Wakefield, Mass.) made 15 saves to take the loss for the Hawks.
Saint Anselm returns to action on April 5th, hosting Southern New Hampshire for a noon start.
