Ruzek Leads Oneonta Romp Over Scranton

SUNY Oneonta senior Brianne Ruzek (Mineola/St. Mary(Manhasset)) scored three goals and added three assists in leading the Red Dragons to an 18-6 non conference victory today at home against visiting Scranton. The win for Oneonta evens its season record at 3-3 overall while the Royals fall to 1-3.

Oneonta took control early rolling up a 7-2 lead in the first 15 minutes en route to a 12-2 halftime advantage. Ruzek had five of her game-high six points in the opening half of play.

Right behind Ruzek in points today was junior Lauren Portnoy (Sea Cliff/North Shore) and freshman Rebecca Monteith (West Islip/West Islip), who each contributed two goals and two assists each to the offense.

Freshman Annelise Muscietta (Lindenhurst/Walter O'Connell Copiague) made six saves to pick up her third win of the spring.

Sophomore Caroline Pryor (Robbinsville, NJ/Notre Dame) led Scranton with a pair of goals.

Oneonta will be in action again this coming Tuesday on the road against Potsdam for the SUNYAC opening game for both squads beginning at 4:00 p.m.
