No. 18 Lynchburg Breezes Past Randolph in Shutout
LYNCHBURG, VA – Senior attack-man Tyler Tolson (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakefield) netted five goals for the second-straight game as the Lynchburg men's lacrosse team breezed past Randolph College 24-0 in non-league play.
Tolson scored his game-high goal total in first the 18 minutes of the game, the last two when LC was playing a man-down. The Hornets led 6-0 after the first period and 15-0 at intermission.
Chris Eggeling (Barrington, RI/PCD), Kevin Donahue (Ipswich, MA/Tabor Academy), Tyler Burford (West Friendship, MD/Glenelg) and Robert Flintoff (Suffolk, VA/Nansemond-Suffolk) each netted three goals, and Michael Mundorf (Cambridge, MD/Westfield) had three first-half assists. Connor Carroll ( Cincinnati, OH/Archbishop Moeller) and Ben Sauer (Richmond, VA/Collegiate School) each contributed a goal and two assists, and Austin Jeter (Coppell, TX/Episcopal School of Dallas) and Matt Manzo (Leesburg, VA/Notre Dame Academy) had a goal and an assist apiece.
Lynchburg outshot Randolph 58-3 and won 22 of the contest's 27 face-offs. Kevin McCraken made 18 saves for the Wildcats (0-6).
The Hornets (6-3) host Virginia Wesleyan College Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.
