18th-Ranked Lynchburg Handles Virginia Wesleyan
LYNCHBURG, VA – The 18th-ranked Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team dominated the middle two quarters of play and went on to defeat Virginia Wesleyan College 15-6 Wednesday afternoon in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest.
The game was tied at three after one minute of play in the second period, when LC took over - scoring eight-straight goals and 11 of the next 12.
Junior midfielder Ethan Farrell (Nantucket, MA/Nantucket) scored all of his team-high three goals in the decisive eight-goal spurt. Michael Mundorf (Cambridge, MA/Mt. Saint Joseph) and Dylan Hoff (Chester Springs, PA/Downingtown East) each posted two goals and two assists and Tyler Tolson (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakefield) netted two scores and added one assist. Aaron Khouri (Memphis, TN/MUS) also had two goals and Franc Cook (Milton, DE/Cape Henlopen) made six saves to record his seventh victory on the season.
Damian Becker paced the Marlins (3-8/0-2 ODAC) with two goals and two assists. Travis Puls tallied a goal and an assist. Lynchburg held a 43-27 edge in shots and Hornet junior Brennen Green (Lake Oswego, OR/Lake Oswego) won 13 of 21 face-offs.
The Hornets (7-3/1-0 ODAC) travel to Randolph-Macon College Saturday for another ODAC contest at 1:00 p.m.
