Devils Suffer 12-10 Setback at Muhlenberg

(Allentown, Pa.) - The Dickinson College women's lacrosse team suffered 12-10 setback at Muhlenberg College in Centennial Conference action on Wednesday. The Red Devils held an 8-7 advantage at halftime but managed to just two goals in the second half as they slip to 7-4 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

The game saw five lead changes in the first half with the Devils closing out the period on a 4-1 run to lead 8-7 at the break. Muhlenberg's Sara Hiller scored with just 22 seconds remaining in the half to pull the Mules within a goal. Muhlenberg tacked on three straight goals to start the second half, taking a 10-8 advantage at the 24:12 mark.

The teams traded goals with Abby Larson (Easton, Md./Gunston Day) finding the net with 16:27 left to make the score 11-10 in favor of the Mules. Ruth Morringiello added a goal with 3:22 and Muhlenberg held on to improve to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the CC.

Senior Amy Jennings (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) dished out four assists while Alysa Crellin (Little Compton, R.I./Portsmouth Abbey School) scored three goals. Kelsey Muir (Glen Mills, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) added a pair of goals and an assist while Lexie Kob (Collegeville, Pa./Springford) scored twice.

Larson tallied a goal and an assist to go with three draw controls. Rachel Jones (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) controlled three draws and three ground balls on the day. Sophomore Jessie Clark (Devon, Pa./Conestoga) made nine saves and controlled four GBs.

Danielle Rosen led Muhlenberg with four goals and two assists, while Morrongiello finished with three goals and an assist.

The Red Devils return home to host #5-ranked Franklin & Marshall on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
