Ursinus Routs Bryn Mawr to Snap Losing Streak

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's lacrosse team snapped an eight-match losing streak on Thursday with a 20-1 thrashing of Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference play. The Bears (2-8, 1-3 Centennial) outshot the Owls (2-7, 0-4 Centennial) 32-5 on the afternoon and forced 17 Owl turnovers in the win.

For the Bears, freshman midfielder Emily Diehl (Lebanon, NJ/Voorhees) and sophomore attack Lindsay Urban (Doylestown, PA/CB East) each netted three goals in the win. Junior midfielder Elizabeth Cannon (Garrison, NY/James I. O'Neil), senior midfielder Lisa Clark (Media, PA/Penncrest), freshman midfielder Kristen Wampole (Harleysville, PA/Souderton), freshman midfielder Kim Peifer (Collegeville, PA/Methacton) and freshman midfielder Alyssa Thren (Barto, PA/Upper Perkiomen) each had two goals in the win.

Cannon had three assists, while senior attack Jenna Werley (Springfield, PA/Springfield) added in two. Bryn Mawr's lone goal came with 6:56 left in the game as senior attack Liza Horowitz scored unassisted.

In goal, junior Alex McBride (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) made one save on one shot in the first half, while sophomore Emma Bacharach (Lancaster, PA/JP McCaskey) made three saves in the second.

Ursinus hosts Washington (Md.) on Saturday.
