No. 6 Hamilton Rallies, Pulls Away from Clarkson

POTSDAM, N.Y. -- Hamilton College rallied from an early 3-0 deficit with 10 straight goals and the nationally ranked No. 6 Continentals routed Clarkson University 21-7 in a Liberty League women's lacrosse game played at Potsdam High School on April 3.

Audrey Nebergall led Hamilton (7-1 overall, 3-0 Liberty) with a game-high four goals. Nebergall has 11 goals in the last three games. Kate Marek chipped in three goals. Kaillie Briscoe added two goals, three assists and two caused turnovers. Ashley Allen tallied three goals, and Sarah Bray scored two, assisted on another and picked up six ground balls. Josie Jones collected five ground balls.

Alyssa Breed paced Clarkson (3-5, 0-2) with three goals and Saryn Campbell added two. Kimberly Loucks contributed one goal, two assists, three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Goalie Hannah Walters kept the Golden Knights in the game early and finished with 20 saves.

Loucks scored 1:20 into the first half and Breed added two goals to make the score 3-0 before the defending NCAA Division III champions called timeout. Nebergall broke the ice for the Continentals 45 seconds later and Hamilton scored the next nine goals for a 10-3 lead at the break. Briscoe had one goal and three assists during the run.

Clarkson led off the second half with a goal by Campbell to pull within 10-4 with 28:26 left. The Continentals ran off the next six goals for a 16-4 advantage to clinch the victory.

Hamilton boasted a 52-19 advantage in shots. The Continentals have won 23 straight games against league opponents and go for 24 in a row on Saturday, April 4, at St. Lawrence University.
