GAFFNEY, S.C.- The No. 4 Lady Saints lacrosse team picked up a 19-14 victory against Conference Carolinas-rival Pfeiffer University on Saturday afternoon at Saints Field. Limestone improves to 11-1 overall (9-1 conference) as the Falcons fall to 7-6 overall (5-3 league).

Saturday was also Senior Day for Limestone and the Lady Saints' senior class accounted for 13 of the team's goals. Lauryn Wise (Pasadena, Md.) scored six goals while Melissa Howard (Ferndale, Md.) and Shea Farrell (Blue Point, N.Y.) scored three goals apiece. Kelly Lickert (Penn Yan, N.Y.) also added a goal.

Four more Lady Saints scored in the win. Katie Ilott (Whitby, Ontario, Canada) and Kelly Lalonde (Henrietta, N.Y.) had two goals apiece. Kristen DeMarzi (Huntington, N.Y.) and Renee Albro (Purcellville, Va.) each scored once. Howard and Lickert also tallied two assists as Farrell posted one.

Ilott had a solid day on defense for Limestone as she caused four turnovers and posted four ground balls. She also won three draw controls. Albro recorded four draw controls, as Wise and Dani Tosky (Bluffton, S.C.) posted three. Starting goalkeeper Brigid Milchling (Cockeysville, Md.) had 9 saves in the first 50 minutes, while Michaela Reynolds (Columbia, Md.) posted one in the final 10 minutes.

Heidi Karaszkiewicz (Glen Burnie, Md.) led her team with six goals as Krissy Bentolila (Potomac, Md.) scored three times. Jamie Livingston (Winter Park, Fla.) won four draw controls. Falcon goalkeeper Caitlin Ryan (Perth, Australia) had nine saves.

Limestone won 22 of the game's 36 draw controls. The Lady Saints held the edge in ground balls (14-9) and shots (32-28). Pfeiffer was 4-7 in free-position attempts as Limestone was 6-10.

Limestone travels to play Lees-McRae on April 7 at 6:00 p.m. in Banner Elk, N.C. The Falcons also play the Bobcats next week as Pfeiffer heads to Banner Elk, N.C., on April 6 for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
