Visiting UC Davis Hammers Howard
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Junior center Britt Farquharson scored a game-high four goals while sophomore Christina Corsa added three goals and three assists as UC Davis exploded for a 21-2 win over Howard in non-conference women's collegiate lacrosse action at Greene Stadium Monday afternoon. The Aggies improve to 4-9 for the season. The Bison remain winless at 0-10.
Farquharson and Corsa were among five players to perform hat tricks as UC Davis posted its highest scoring total since a 21-3 win over Robert Morris to open the 2006 season. Senior Patrice Clark, sophomore Gina Hoffmire and freshman Laura Sunday each tallied three goals for the Aggies, which led 14-2 at the halftime break.
Senior Sakita Holley and junior Lauren Rivers accounted for Howard's two unassisted goals in the game. UC Davis outshot its hosts by a 32-6 margin, enjoying scoring runs of eight goals in the first half and nine goals during the final 32 minutes of play.
The Aggies return to action on Sunday for a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation home game against Denver.
