Florida Southern Tops Visiting Medaille
The Medaille College men's lacrosse team jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before surrendering an 18-9 loss to Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL.
The host Moccasins had no answer for sophomore Jim Luthart (Amherst, NY/Amherst), who finished with a career-high four goals and teammate David Bennett (Macedon, NY/Palmyra-Macedon), who netted three goals.
It seemed that the Mavs would get their first win of the year before Florida Southern went on a run. Senior goalkeeper Ben Dlugosh (Palmyra, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) played a solid game between the posts as he stopped 17 Moccasin shots.
The Mavs are now 0-2 on the year, and they will face Salem State College tomorrow (3/17) at 1:00 p.m. in Lakeland, FL.
