Medaille Drops Third Straight, to Salem State in Florida

The Medaille College men's lacrosse team took to the field in Lakeland, Florida just sixteen hours after falling to Division II Florida Southern. The Mavs faced Salem State College for the first time in program history and Medaille fell for the third straight game, 11-3.

The loss leaves the Mavs at 0-3 to start the 2009 season. In this game freshman midfielder Matt Dunkle (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) led the way with two goals while senior David Bennett (Macedon, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) inched closer to the all-time goals and points lead as he netted the Mavs other goal. Bennett now has 63 goals, eleven shy of the all-time mark, and 119 points, which is two points shy of the all-time scoring milestone.

The Mavs will head back to Buffalo on Thursday and then make a trip to Angola, Indiana to face Trine University on Saturday (3/21) at noon.
