Brockport Hands Medaille Fifth Straight Loss

The Medaille College men's lacrosse team is in desperate need of a victory as they dropped a 12-6 decision at Brockport State this afternoon. The Mavs have lost their first five games of the season.

In today's game the Mavs received a solid performance from senior goalkeeper Ben Dlugosh (Palmyra, NY/Palmyra-Macedon), who stopped 16 of 27 shots faced. The one bright spot for the Mavs came with 9:14 remaining in the first quarter as senior midfielder David Bennett (Macedon, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) feathered a pass to sophomore Sean Murray (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park), who buried it to cut the Brockport lead to 2-1.

Bennett's assist was the 58th of his career and it gave him his 122nd point, a new Medaille record. Bennett would add a goal and another assist on the day, which leaves him with 124 points in his career. He now has one more record to chase, the all-time goals mark of 74. He currently has 65.

The Mavs (0-5) will face off against Penn State-Abington at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday (3/29) at the Nichols School.
