O'Connell to Coach Le Moyne for Remainder of Season
According to an article at Syracuse.com, Le Moyne "is playing without head coach Lauren O'Connor for the remainder of the season." Third-year ssistant Meghan O'Connell was named acting head coach earlier this week.
Matt Bassett, the Le Moyne College athletic director, told the Post-Standard that he could not comment on O'Connor's status and said only that O'Connell would serve as head coach until the season ends on the 25th.
O'Connor was in her seventh year at Le Moyne. According to the Le Moyne web site, she entered this season with "the highest winning percentage in the program's history. Since 2003, the Dolphins have posted a 77-32 (.706) overall record." This year the team has struggled to a 5-8 record, including losses in four of the last five games.
