Brookhaven, NY - Seniors Lauren Marra and Stephanie Cotter with Sophomores Cassi Cronin and Kelly Cefalu each performed hat tricks to lead DC and secure a 19-3 win over Chestnut Hill Griffins women's lacrosse action at the Golden Lions Field Friday afternoon. The Golden Lions improved their record to 7-4 on the season, while the Griffins fall to 7-5.

DC started the game quickly with a goal from Cefalu 30 seconds into the contest, Griffins responded with a goal from Maryanne Glass 1 minute later.

The Golden Lions added to its lead throughout the first half, scoring eight more goals to head into intermission with a 9-2 advantage. DC then outscored Chestnut Hill, 10-1, in the second half en route to the 16-goal margin of victory.

Pamela McGirr led Dowling with three caused turnovers, while Stephanie Cotter picked up five ground balls closely followed by Marra and Brianna Falese with four ground balls.

The Golden Lions are back in action Thursday afternoon, as they travel to Brookville, NY to take on CW Post. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
