Golden Flyers Race Past Soaring Eagles

ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Sophomore Michelle Cook (Waterloo, NY) scored five goals and added three assists Friday and junior Nora Davis (Bishop Ludden/Syracuse, NY) contributed four goals as Nazareth outscored host Elmira in women's lacrosse action, 20-9.

Nazareth improved to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in the Empire 8. Elmira is 1-8 overall and 0-4 in conference games. The Golden Flyers travel to Ithaca Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. game.

Nazareth won its second game in a row as three other players scored twice each. Freshmen Megan O'Donnell (Delmar, NY) and Melissa Cignarale (Rome, NY) each had two goals. Sophomore Chelsey Amidon (Marcellus, NY) had two goals and one assist.

Other goal scorers for Nazareth were seniors Maggie Mullin (Irondequoit) and Shannon Lattimore (Auburn, NY), who each added assists; juniors Alyssia Roberts ((Marcus Whitman) and Melissa Brennan (Penn Yan, NY) and sophomore Alyssa Mulheron (Canandaigua, NY).
