Pfeiffer Downs Bobcats for Second Time in Two Days
Misenheimer, NC – The Pfeiffer women's lacrosse team defeated the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College for their third win in three days. Pfeiffer took the Conference Carolinas game 20-9 and moved to a record of 11-6 overall and 9-3 in league play. Lees-McRae falls to 6-10 overall and 2-9 in the conference.
The Falcons outshot the Bobcats 34-21 in the game. Pfeiffer won 24 of 38 ground balls and 17 of 30 draw controls.
Pfeiffer was led by Krissy Bentolila (Potomac, MD) who tallied five points off of four goals and one assist. Bentolila also scooped up two ground balls. Sarah Hebberd (Golden, CO) and Heidi Karaszkiewicz (Glen Burnie, MD) had four points on the day. They each scored three goals and tallied on assist. Karaszkiewicz also grabbed two ground balls and five draw controls. Kelly McConnell (Woodbridge, VA) netted three goal. Jessica Sundman (Winter Springs, FL) grabbed four grounds balls.
Falcon starting goalkeeper Caitlyn Ryan (Perth, Australia) played thirty minutes and made one save with one ground ball. Lindsey Rearigh (Monument, CO) came in for the second stanza and made eight saves.
Lees-McRae was led by Desiree Cox (Hendersonville, TN) with four goals and one assist. Cheryse Cox (Hendersonville, TN) added three goals. Net minder Martha Peacock (Mooresville, NC) made 11 saves.
Pfeiffer and Lees-McRae will meet once again on Wednesday at Pfeiffer for the first round of the Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse tournament.
