Farmingdale State Falls to Kean in Overtime
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State Men's lacrosse team was defeated by Kean University (8-5) 11-10 in overtime in today's Skyline Conference game. The Rams (3-9) scored six of their 10 goals in the fourth period.
With 1:20 left in the fourth period senior Mike Maxwell (West Babylon,N.Y/West Babylon/NYIT) scored, then 13 seconds later he scored again to make the score 9-10 in favor of Kean. Freshman Erick Thomson (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park) scored a minute later tying the game at 10. Maxwell had three goals and an assist and Thomson recorded four goals and two assists.
Kean University was led by junior Scott Leathem (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) who had four goals, and senior C.J. Gannon (Morris Plains, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) had three goals and three assists. Junior goalie John Gesumaria (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) made 18 saves for the Cougars.
The Rams next game is this Wednesday April 15th, a conference game against Maritime at 4:00pm in Farmingdale, N.Y.
