DURHAM, N.H. – Sarah Von Bargen (East Setauket, N.Y.) and Shaunna Kaplan (Framingham, Mass.) both recorded four points to lead a balanced attack in the 18th-ranked New Hampshire's 17-5 victory against Le Moyne in women's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon at Memorial Field. UNH improved to 9-6 overall and Le Moyne fell to 5-9 following the first meeting between these two programs.

Von Bargen tallied two goals and two assists while Kaplan extended her point-scoring streak to eight games with a goal and three assists. Kaplan also finished with three draw controls, two ground balls and once caused turnover. Von Bargen's numbers included three ground balls and two draw controls.

Seven other Wildcats recorded multiple points, led by Michaela Hardy (Reading, Mass.) and Deb Dale (East Northport, N.Y.) with three goals apiece. Hardy, who was also credited with three ground balls, two caused turnovers and one draw control, now has 99 career goals, while the three goals – and points – marked a personal best for Dale. Also of note, Allie Bratton (Windermere, Fla.) finished with a personal-best two goals and Hayley Rausch (Severna Park, Md.) had a career-high two assists.

Ashley Durepo (Concord, N.H.) scored twice for the 'Cats, while both Ilana Cohen (Andover, Mass.) and Susie Piotrkowski (Franklin, Conn.) had a goal and an assist. Cohen also contributed two draw controls, two caused turnovers and one ground ball.

UNH goalkeeper Kate Gunts (Wilton, Conn.) was credited with one save in the victory. Defensively, Beth Stankus (Derry, N.H.) recorded a game-high five ground balls as well as one caused turnover. Beth Sabiston (Bayshore, N.Y.) tallied a goal, four GB and one CTO.

Le Moyne goalie Kelly Fucillo made 12 saves, including nine in the first half. Katlin Walker (2g) and Jennier Lewis (1g, 1a) led the Dolphins' attack. Nerissa Barzee tallied a team-best four ground balls in addition to one CTO and one draw control.

New Hampshire scored five goals in the opening five minutes of the game to quickly build a 5-0 lead. Kaplan, deep on the left wing, cut in front of the defender and maneuvered to the front of the goal to give the 'Cats a 1-0 lead at 27:04. Hardy then scored goals 18 seconds apart at 26:46 and 26:28 to push the advantage to 3-0.

The visitors called time out, but UNH continued its offensive flurry. Cohen, who set up Hardy's second strike, one-timed Kaplan's pass from behind the net into the goal from the right doorstep to make the score 4-0 at 25:45. Led by a pass from Von Bargen, Dale cut from left to right and scored from close range at the top of the crease to increase the lead to five goals at 24:55.

Von Bargen scored a free-position goal at 23:04 on a high shot from the top of the fan to extend the cushion to 6-0. Mia Valletta put Le Moyne in the scoring column at 21:29 on a drive from the top of the fan.

New Hampshire regained a six-goal lead one minute later when Sabiston raced in from midfield, maneuvered past a pair of defenders with a couple of quick steps to the right and scored from the middle of the fan.

The pace of the game slowed, but the 'Cats struck again at 10:19 to built an 8-1 lead. Piotrkowski, setting the attack from behind the net, found Durepo at the right doorstep and she deposited the ball into the upper-right corner of the cage.

Dale scored her second of the game at 8:24 when she collected Rausch's pass from the left wing, cut past a defender and deked the goalie before shooting into the open net.
