No. 14 Brown Earns Ivy League Win Over No. 17 Harvard
Boston, Mass. - Sophomore Andrew Feinberg scored three goals and junior Thomas Muldoon added two goals to lead the 14th-ranked Brown men's lacrosse team to an 8-6 Ivy league win over #17 Harvard at Harvard Stadium. The win lifts the Bears to 10-2 overall and 3-1 in the Ivy League with league games remaining against #4 Cornell and #1 Princeton. Harvard falls to 5-5 overall and 1-3 in Ivy games.
Brown led for most of the game, but two fourth quarter goals by the Crimson cut the Bears lead to 7-6. Muldoon stepped in and scored his second goal of the game to give the Bears a two-goal cushion, 8-6, with 4:15 left in the game, to account for the final margin of victory.
Harvard got on the scoreboard first, but Brown scored the next three goals to grab a 3-1 lead on goals by Muldoon, Feinberg and senior Brady Williams with 3:59 left in the first quarter, a lead that held up through the first quarter of play.
The Crimson netted two second quarter goals, sandwiched in between a Feinberg goal for the Bears, keeping Brown ahead at the half by a 4-3 margin.
Feinberg's third goal of the game gave the Bears a 5-3 advantage with 13:15 left in the third quarter and junior Charlie Kenny scored just 16 seconds later to extend Brown's lead to 6-3.
Senior Reade Seligman netted his first goal of the game with 10:54 left in the quarter to further extend the Bears lead to 7-3. Crimson middie Jason Duboe scored with 1:15 remaining in the third quarter to cut the Brown lead to 7-4, heading into the fourth quarter.
Brown's All-American goalie Jordan Burke may have been the difference in the game. The Ivy League leader in saves per game registered 11 saves for the Bears. Joe Pike made 10 saves in goal for the Crimson.
The Bears will play their final non-league game of the season on Saturday, traveling to cross-town rival Providence College on April 18th. Game time is 7:00 p.m.

With the loss, the Crimson falls to 5-5 overall and 1-3 in the Ivy League, while the Bears improve to 10-2 and 3-1 in the Ancient Eight.
Before 925 fans at Harvard Stadium, Gibbons opened the scoring with an unassisted tally into the top right corner of the net at 13:28. Brown responded two minutes later on the first of two goals by Thomas Muldoon, and added two more scores later in the first to carry a 3-1 lead after the first 15 minutes of action.
In the second, Gibbons blasted a shot from the right side at the 7:05 mark, cutting the Crimson's deficit in half, 3-2. Brown regained a two-goal lead at 5:01, as Muldoon teamed up with Andrew Feinberg for the second of three times on the night. With three minutes to play in the second, Max Motschwiller fired a shot from 10 yards out that beat Brown goalkeeper Jordan Burke, making it a 4-3 game entering the break.
Through two quarters of play, Harvard owned an 18-10 lead in shots and led in ground balls, 12-11.
