Washington & Jefferson Downs LBC to Win 4th in a Row
LANCASTER, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College women's lacrosse team won its fourth consecutive game on Saturday after routing Lancaster Bible 20-2. The Presidents have now doubled their season win from last year's first NCAA Division III varsity season.
Sophomore attacker Courtney Schrock (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks West) led the Presidents (6-6) with a career-high nine points. She scored five goals and assisted on four others.
Freshman Brittney Oake (Bell Mead, N.J./Montgomery) added six points with three goals and three assists, while classmate Cayla Grodotzke (Merrick, N.Y./Sanford H. Calhoun) fired in three goals and posted one assist.
Senior Laura Peery (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) and freshman Joanne Chojecki (Lake View, N.Y./Frontier Senior) both contributed two goals, while senior Valerie Orchezowski (Erie, Pa./McDowell) and freshman Liz Turcik (Ligonier, Pa./Miss Halls School) rounded out the W&J goal scorers with one each.
Sophomore goalie Amber Kuntz (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) collected her ninth career victory after stopping four shots.
Lancaster Bible's record dropped to 3-11 overall.
