No. 4 Limestone Advances to Title Game over St. Andrews

GAFFNEY, S.C. - The No. 4-ranked Limestone College women's lacrosse team advanced to the Conference Carolinas championship match with a 15-6 win over St. Andrews on Saturday afternoon at Saints Field. Limestone (15-1 overall), the tournament's #1 seed, will play #2 Belmont Abbey tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. for the conference tournament title. St. Andrews stands at 10-8 overall with today's loss.

Limestone's Kelly Oterson (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) and Lauryn Wise (Pasadena, Md.) scored four goals each. Katie Ilott (Whitby, Ontario, Canada) recorded a hat trick as Kelly Lickert (Penn Yan, N.Y.) scored twice. Melissa Howard (Ferndale, Md.) and Casey Wilcox (Liverpool, N.Y.) also scored. Kristen DeMarzi (Huntington, N.Y.), Shea Farrell (Blue Point, N.Y.), Howard, Lickert, and Wilcox posted assists.

Ilott led the team with four draw controls. Dani Tosky (Bluffton, S.C.), Renee Albro (Purcellville, Va.), and Wise caused two turnovers apiece. Albro led Limestone with four ground balls. Goalkeeper Brigid Milchling (Cockeysville, Md.) posted six saves in the win.

Kerrie Brown (Irondequoit, N.Y.) and Katie Wright (Waterloo, N.Y.) each scored twice for the Knights. Kim McDaniel (Joppa, Md.) and Cara Manas (Harwood, Md.) also scored. Brown led her team with two assists as Kelsey Binggeli (Newark, N.Y.) tallied one.

St. Andrews' Alex Goldman (Winter Springs, Fla.) had a team-high three draw controls. Goalkeeper Eryn McCaffrey (Cicero, N.Y.) posted 13 saves in the effort.

Limestone built a 9-1 lead during the first period and outscored St. Andrews 6-5 in the second half. The Lady Saints held the advantage in shots (34-19), ground balls (19-13), and draw controls (13-10).
